4 Tips for Better Fitness

Gaining a decent level of fitness, body composition and strength doesn’t come overnight. It’s an ongoing ever learning journey that has many ups and downs, just as life does, however, it’s important to enjoy the ride.

Essentially, building a consistent routine that becomes a way of life is vital for long-term success and goal achieving. Here are 10 important tips to conduct healthy habits and a productive fitness lifestyle for life.

  1. 30 minutes is a lot of time:

It is common to think that you need a couple hours in a gym or playing a sport to have any significant impact and benefit for your body. However, short and intensive exercise can and will do wonders for your body. Whether that’s explosive forms of HIIT training or callisthenics or a mix of strength training and moderate cardio. Given an intense workout is conducted at least 3 times a week, with enough and monitored nutrition and adequate recovery, your body over time will look wonders if such a routine is maintained.

  1. The best exercise is the one you enjoy:

Being a gym rat isn’t for everyone and that’s okay. Finding the right workout or exercise platform for you is key in maintaining a healthy lifestyle over the long-term. Whether you’re someone that likes to go for walks or jogs, someone who likes to undertake kettlebell classes or a spin class, to your everyday gym goer. Find something you love, and you will never feel like your wasting your time again.

  1. The basic moves are really all you need:

Sometimes its best not to make things more difficult than they need to be. When it comes to training, sticking to the compound basics such as; deadlifts, squats, bench-press and then bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, planks. Sometimes you will be short on time whether that’s due to work, travel or even family commitments. However, everyone can fit a quick workout in and sometimes the basics whether you complete them at home or in the gym is all you need.

  1. Weight loss happens slowly:

Nutrition and healthy eating habits play such a large and vital role in achieving weight loss. Although, the more muscle that you have, the more calories your body will burn at rest, other words while it isn’t working out or training. Cardio can aid in fat loss, it is key though to understand and know the desired heart rate zones and what they’re good for, etc…. some heart rate zones will help you improve your cardiovascular endurance while not particularly burning fat as the primary energy source.
